    The Local Area/Community Projects Committee is the main source of grant funding for worthy endeavors within our community. We seek out those community projects on which we can make the maximum impact through grants and individual involvement. These projects support non-profit activities, groups and efforts that make a significant impact on our youth, the disadvantaged, and/or those elements of our community not adequately serviced by other avenues of support.

    Our grants have included the Jefferson Neighborhood Organization (F.U.N.D.), the American Red Cross, Break the Barriers, Positive Attitude Outlook (a foster care agency), the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Blood Bank, Hope Now for Youth, the Sanctuary, Valley Teen Ranch,  Girl and Boy Scouts, Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss, the Christian Student Athletes Basketball Society, the Fresno Philharmonic and many more.

    Members of Educational Groups and Non Profits in the Fresno Community may submit a request for funds to the Rotary Club of Fresno and the Rotary Club of Fresno Foundation. Start by submitting a letter on letterhead addressed to the Rotary Club of Fresno / Community Projects. We are deeply committed to service in our community. Perhaps we can help you.

    Rotary Club of Fresno Community Projects Committee Mission Statement

    We will seek out those community projects on which we can make the maximum impact through grants and individual involvement.  These projects will support nonprofit activities or groups, and efforts that make a significant impact on youth, the disadvantaged, and/or those elements of our community not adequately serviced by other avenues of support.

    Giving Guidelines

    1. The funding recipient must be a nonprofit charitable or educational organization.
    2. Funding requests should be for a specific project, specific material, or specific capital equipment. Requests for general financial support may be considered, but only if a project or program will fail or have to be abandoned if this Rotary Club’s financial support is unavailable.
    3. Preference will be given to requests which:
        • provide for or encourage the involvement of members of this Rotary Club;
        • make a significant impact on youth, the disadvantaged, or those elements of our community not adequately serviced by other avenues of support;
        • are for new projects as opposed to well-funded or well-established projects;
        • are for projects in Fresno , or that primarily benefit residents of Fresno ; and
        • are under the direction of a local organization or local affiliate
    4. The Rotary Club of Fresno does not generally support or sponsors;
        • Individuals;
        • Tax supported governmental agencies (e.g., fire, police), but will consider special projects for public schools;
        • Organizations or projects outside the greater Fresno area;
        • On-going operating expenses;
        • Political projects or those that are primarily related to a political cause;
        • Religious organizations for religious purposes;
        • Sabbatical leaves or scholarly research;
        • Travel, tours and trips;
        • Endowments and debt reduction; or
        • Fundraising events.
    5. The Rotary Club of Fresno requests appropriate recognition of its grants.
    6. The Rotary Club of Fresno requests grant recipients provide a written report and appropriate documentation (receipts, invoices, etc.) detailing the use and results of the grant.  This report is required before subsequent grant requests will be considered.
