On April 27, 1993, The
Rotary Club of Fresno Foundation
announced the offering of Seat options for the Rotary Amphitheater at
Woodward Park. The funds generated became the seed money for its construction. As of
this date, over 600 of the 1,000 seat options have been purchased to
support the Amphitheater.
These Seat Options entitle the holders to
the right of first refusal to purchase tickets to events held at the
Amphitheater. The Grand Opening Event at the Amphitheater was held on
October 3, 1994.
The City of Fresno has agreed to honor all
outstanding Seat Options for a ten year period commencing the first year
that at least ten events are held at the Amphitheater for which a Seat
Option holder is given the opportunity to purchase tickets. However,
to date there have not been ten such events in a single
year.
The “Seat Option” does not include the price
of admission for the event but the option to purchase a ticket to the
event before they are sold to the general public. A Seat Option holder is
under no obligation to purchase tickets to any event scheduled at the
Rotary Amphitheater. Seat Option holders will also be advised when a
non ticketed public event is scheduled at the Amphitheater for which there
is no seat option.
If possible, Seat Option holders
will be allowed a period of at least two full weeks (14 days)
to exercise their Seat Options for any public event scheduled
to be held at the Rotary Amphitheater. Exercise notices will contain a final purchase date
together with the cost for each ticket.
The City of Fresno will be
managing all operations held at the Amphitheater, including ticketing and
events as well as will be notifying Seat Option holders of information about
events and how to proceed in obtaining tickets. Rotary will be releasing
the contact information about Seat Option holders to the City for event
information purposes only. After that, it is important that you
continually update your information with the City in order that you
receive timely notices to exercise your
option. |
